Barcelona don’t expect Dani Olmo back in time for Espanyol clash

Barcelona return to La Liga action on Saturday against Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium but look set to be without Dani Olmo again for the Catalan derby.

Olmo has been sidelined since suffering a dislocated shoulder in the win over Atletico Madrid at the start of December and is not expected to be ready to face Espanyol, according to Diario Sport.

The report says that Olmo’s conservative treatment has worked but the club don’t want to rush him back and are instead thinking about the Spanish Super Cup instead.

Olmo is expected to be passed fit in time for the competition which sees Barca face off against Athletic Club in the semi-finals in Saudi Arabia on January 7th.

Barcelona are due to return to training this afternoon at the Estadi Johan Cruyff in an open training session as the players get back to work after some time off over the Christmas period.
