Bills' Allen ready to play despite various injuries

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Despite being reported with three separate injuries, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen boasts no injury designation and is ready to compete in Saturday’s divisional round matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Allen’s availability was never uncertain, as he possesses an impressive record of playing through injuries, boasting an active streak of 122 consecutive regular-season starts, the longest in the league.

This season, he is managing issues with his left knee and right finger, both sustained during last week’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

«You can call him Superman, Wolverine, or whatever fits,» remarked tight end Dawson Knox about Allen. «I’ve seen him endure numerous brutal hits, twist his knee, or bang his finger on a helmet, injuries that would sideline many others, yet he continues to play without missing a beat. So, when we refer to him putting on that cape, it carries several meanings.»

Allen participated fully in Wednesday and Thursday practices after being limited on Tuesday.

«I feel well, I feel well,» Allen stated on Tuesday. «Honestly, I feel better than I have over the past few weeks. I know it’s Tuesday for us, but I’m in a Wednesday mindset.»

The Bills will be missing safety Jordan Poyer (hamstring) and cornerback Maxwell Hairston (ankle) in the upcoming game. Several players who could provide significant contributions are also considered questionable, including running back Ty Johnson (ankle) and linebacker Terrel Bernard (calf), alongside three players on injured reserve — starting defensive tackle Ed Oliver (biceps), safety Damar Hamlin (pectoral), and wide receiver Curtis Samuel (elbow). All three on injured reserve could significantly boost the team, given current injury troubles at their positions.
