Bolts fire OC Roman, OL coach after playoff exit

The Los Angeles Chargers have fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman and offensive line coach Mike Devlin after their playoff exit, the team announced Tuesday.

Jim Harbaugh hired Roman as his offensive coordinator when he returned to the NFL as the Chargers’ coach in 2024. Roman has been Harbaugh’s only offensive coordinator during his time in the NFL, also serving in the role for the San Francisco 49ers when Harbaugh was the coach from 2011 to 2014.

The Chargers scored just 3 points in Sunday night’s wild-card loss to the New England Patriots.

After the loss, Harbaugh was asked whether Roman was the right playcaller for the team and said, «I don’t have that answer right now.»

The Chargers suffered several injuries on their offensive line this season, including to bookend tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt, forcing them to shuffle their lineup.
