Myles Jack, the former linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers, has been charged with firearms offenses in Texas following his arrest on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Frisco Police Department.
The police report indicates that officers were dispatched to a residence in Frisco for a wellness check at 5:40 a.m. on December 16, where they reported hearing gunfire emanating from within. Authorities established a perimeter and evacuated surrounding homes before witnessing a suspect, later confirmed to be Jack, 30, exit through a second-story window and fall.
Jack was taken into custody at 7:12 a.m. and subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, which were not life-threatening, according to the police release. They noted that no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office has charged Jack with deadly conduct/discharge of a firearm, classified as a third-degree felony, in addition to a misdemeanor for discharging a firearm in specific municipalities.
In 2023, Jack and his mother, LaSonjia Jack, acquired the ECHL Allen Americans minor league hockey team. He is also associated with the ECHL’s Jacksonville Icemen as part of a group of former athletes investing in Zawyer Sports, the organization that owns the Icemen.
