Florida State continues its winning streak in the initial week of the 2025 college football season. Just after the Seminoles achieved a significant upset over No. 8 Alabama on Saturday night, they garnered a commitment from three-star wide receiver prospect Jonah Winston — the younger sibling of iconic FSU quarterback Jameis Winston.
The younger Winston, positioned as the No. 47 wide receiver in the 2026 class, declared his commitment to the Seminoles via social media.
As per Noles247, Winston was present at Florida State’s victory against Alabama. He also reportedly has offers from the Crimson Tide, Auburn, and Texas A&M, among a total of 20 schools.
Winston showcases versatility on the field for Hoover (Alabama) High School. Over the past couple of seasons, he has played at quarterback and wide receiver, and he has now added defensive back as Hoover prepares for its 2025 season.
Florida State will be in excellent position if Jonah has a career resembling Jameis’s time with the Seminoles, even if he occupies a different role. Winston secured the 2013 Heisman Trophy while guiding Florida State to a national championship as a redshirt freshman and was honored as a two-time All-ACC selection from 2013-14 after amassing 7,964 yards and 65 touchdowns in two seasons as a starter.
