'I'm going to be their security': Luka Doncic opens up on second child's birth

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic‘s return to the hardwood after being in his hometown for a special occasion couldn’t have been any better.

Los Angeles defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on the road Sunday evening, 112-108, where Doncic led the Lakers with a triple-double — 31 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists.

Doncic missed the Lakers’ previous two games — against the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics — to travel home to Slovenia to be with his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, for their child’s birth. He announced the birth of his second child on social media Saturday. They also have a 2-year-old daughter, Gabriela.

After the game, Doncic, 26, reflected on his new daughter, Olivia, and what it means to be a parent of two.

«I mean it’s just the best thing in the world,» Doncic told reporters. «Obviously two girls, they’re going to make my life hell for sure. I know that.»

Doncic also joked about his post-retirement plans that’ll demand protecting his two daughters.

«I’m going to be their security after I retire,» Doncic quipped. «But all jokes aside, it’s the best thing in the world, and I’m just blessed.»

The Lakers guard is currently leading the league in scoring, averaging 35 points per game, complemented by 9.2 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game.
