Jaguars CB Lewis out for season with foot injury

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Cornerback Jourdan Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars will be sidelined for the rest of the season due to a foot injury that necessitates surgery.

The injury occurred during the Jaguars’ 34-20 win against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Montaric Brown, a fourth-year player, is expected to fill in for Lewis opposite Greg Newsome II.

In March, Lewis secured a three-year contract worth $30 million, which includes $20 million guaranteed. During his time on the field this season, he recorded two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 39 tackles across 12 games, with seven of those being starts. Notably, he also missed four games earlier this season due to a neck issue.
