Just in – Real Madrid agree to loan out teenage prodigy to Ligue 1 giants in January

In a significant turn of events, Brazilian source GE Globo divulges that Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon are nearing a consensus for the January loan of young striker Endrick.

The Spanish club has consented to allow the 19-year-old forward to join the Ligue 1 side on loan for the latter half of the 2025/26 campaign.

Discussions conducted this week have progressed the loan arrangement, with documentation currently being exchanged between the two teams, and the finalization of the deal anticipated in December.

Endrick bound for France

Conversations initiated in late November, with the 19-year-old expressing a favorable outlook on the move to France from the outset. Recent interest from Manchester United, triggered by the injury sustained by Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, did not alter his stance.

Endrick’s main focus is to secure consistent playing time and enhanced visibility, aiming for a spot in Brazil’s World Cup roster.

Carlo Ancelotti has also indicated that there remains the possibility for Endrick’s return to the national squad, while admitting that the striker needs to address his lack of playing time at Real Madrid to regain consideration for selection.

Both Real Madrid and Lyon are keeping the specifics of the agreement confidential. What is understood is that the Spanish club does not plan to sell Endrick outright, and the loan arrangement will exclude any purchase option.

The deal encompasses provisions that would enable Real Madrid to retain or recall Endrick should injuries affect their attacking roster while the transfer window is still open.

Both parties verbally consider the transaction finalized, and Endrick’s agents are already seeking housing in the French city.

This season, Endrick has made just one appearance for Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso. A loan move to Lyon, where he could secure a regular starting position, represents a beneficial opportunity for the young player.
