Ryan Garcia will look to finally win a professional world title as he faces Mario Barrios for Barrios’ WBC welterweight belt, live tonight from Las Vegas.
Garcia (24-2, 20 KO) is coming off of a miserable performance in defeat to Rolly Romero last May, and a lot of his marketability and credibility is truly on the line in this matchup, because it has not been a good couple of years for his results or his PR. Barrios, meanwhile, has had two straight draws against fringe contender Abel Ramos and a 46-year-old version of Manny Pacquiao.
Two more world title fights feature on the undercard, with Richardson Hitchins and Gary Antuanne Russell making super lightweight title defenses against Oscar Duarte and Andy Hiraoka, respectively, plus two more fights on the main card.
