GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Los Angeles Rams achieved an impressive feat by scoring 45 points in their recent win against the Arizona Cardinals, marking their highest score in almost three years. Remarkably, this performance came without head coach Sean McVay, who was sidelined due to health issues prior to the game.
McVay was absent from the team’s Saturday walk-through and the typical Saturday evening meeting was canceled, as he arrived in Arizona only on Sunday morning.
The coach expressed pride in the team’s ability to adapt to the unusual situation, describing it as «a cool reflection of the coaching staff.» Post-game, he honored offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur with a game ball for the outstanding job done by him and the offensive team.
«It was a great collaboration on the offensive side of the ball,» quarterback Matthew Stafford noted. «Mike [LaFleur] really stepped up, and everyone contributed to our success. Scoring this many points is a team effort, and it was impressive to see everyone come together and perform well, especially with our head coach not feeling his best.»

With this commanding 45-17 win in Week 14, coupled with a loss from the Chicago Bears, the Rams reclaimed the top spot in the NFC. Sporting a 10-3 record, they are set to face the 8-5 Lions in Week 15, followed by a crucial clash against the 10-3 Seattle Seahawks just four days later.
McVay highlighted the team’s maturity in managing the game’s lead-up despite his absence prior to kickoff.
