Mike Vrabel shares latest update on QB Drake Maye's shoulder injury

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye showing up as a limited participant with a shoulder injury on Wednesday’s projected injury report fueled Thursday’s inevitable question posed to head coach Mike Vrabel. What is his level of concern about Maye’s shoulder injury?

«Not much,» Vrabel responded, via Patriots Wire’s Sophie Weller.

Pro football doctor David Chao noticed the injury during the Patriots’ AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos last Sunday. NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry later reported that Maye was dealing with the right shoulder injury before the game.

With that said, Vrabel and Maye haven’t shown any concerns regarding any possible impact the injury would have on the game. When appearing on WEEI Afternoons, Maye claimed he was «feeling good» ahead of the biggest game of his young NFL career.

«I’m feeling good. I’m feeling good,» said Maye. «We’re gonna get some extra rest. Really, the only thing is from the game. I think just the build-up of throwing for, this is what? Including training camp, 30 weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up. …I am ready to go for the Super Bowl.»
