The Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office informed ESPN that it does not anticipate a resolution on Thursday regarding the potential filing of criminal charges against former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore.
Moore is still being held at the county jail as a suspect in an alleged assault that occurred Wednesday, shortly after his dismissal as the Wolverines’ football coach for what the university described as an «inappropriate relationship with a staff member.»

«The situation concerning Mr. Moore is still under active investigation by law enforcement, and therefore, we do not foresee any charging decisions or arraignments today,» said Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Liz Mack on Thursday. «Mr. Moore is still held at the Washtenaw County Jail.»
Pittsfield police issued a statement Wednesday evening indicating that they responded at 4:10 p.m. to the 3000 block of Ann Arbor Saline Road «to investigate an alleged assault. … A suspect in this matter was taken into custody. The incident does not seem to be random, and it appears there is no continuing threat to the community.
Moore was first apprehended by police in Saline, Michigan, on Wednesday and handed over to authorities in Pittsfield Township «for investigation into possible charges.»
Michigan terminated Moore’s employment on Wednesday following an inquiry into his conduct with a staff member.
«U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been dismissed, with cause, effective immediately,» the university stated in a release. «Following a University investigation, credible evidence was uncovered indicating that Coach Moore was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.»
The university had initially looked into Moore this fall after receiving a tip about the matter but did not find credible evidence of wrongdoing, a source revealed to ESPN. Additional information surfaced on Wednesday that the source characterized as «overwhelming,» leading to Moore’s instant termination.
Moore, 39, had two seasons as Michigan’s coach after working as the team’s offensive coordinator.
