A sibling of Los Angeles Rams standout Puka Nacua was among two individuals apprehended over the weekend for reportedly taking a vehicle said to belong to Lakers forward Adou Thiero.
The individuals taken into custody on Saturday by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department are Trey Rose, 27, and Samson Nacua, also aged 27, who is the brother of the Pro Bowl wide receiver.
The vehicle in question is a late-model BMW that NBC4 Los Angeles noted was owned by Thiero.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, deputies managed to trace the vehicle to the 8400 block of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
The two individuals were taken into custody on Saturday afternoon for allegedly taking a vehicle without the consent of its owner and were released that same evening, based on details from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department jail records.
Rose and Samson Nacua were freed under California Penal Code Section 849(b), indicating there were insufficient grounds to pursue charges. It was not immediately known if either was being represented by legal counsel.
The sheriff’s department indicated that an investigation is ongoing and provided no additional comments.
Samson Nacua, who played collegiately at both Utah and BYU and spent time in training camps with the Colts and Saints, faced a one-game suspension from the UFL in April for striking a fan during a post-game confrontation following a loss. As part of his penalty, he consented to engage in community service.
Puka Nacua made news this week when he expressed during a livestream that he believes some NFL referees make calls solely to be seen on television during games.
