Paddy Donovan is looking forward to a clash with Conor Benn before next week’s rematch against Lewis Crocker.
Benn will be carefully watching as Donovan competes against Crocker for the vacant IBF welterweight world title at Windsor Park in Belfast next Saturday, six months after their contentious initial fight.
‘The Destroyer’ is set for his own rematch with Chris Eubank Jr on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as they face off again at middleweight after their dramatic first bout in April, which Eubank Jr claimed by unanimous decision at the same location.
’The Destroyer’ has promised to move back down to welterweight after November 15 and Donovan, who is gunning for the title vacated by Jaron Ennis, has expressed willingness for a bout with him.
“That’s our purpose in boxing,” the 26-year-old told Matchroom Boxing.

“We have Conor Benn, Jack Catterall, Devin Haney [who takes on WBO champion, Brian Norman Jr on November 22], Ryan Garcia, Manny Pacquiao.
“There are numerous significant prospects awaiting us once we overcome Crocker.
“Perhaps [I’ll face] Conor Benn.

“Conor is another exceptional fighter.
“I enjoy watching him fight; he’s rather thrilling.
“That’s a matchup I would definitely be keen on pursuing.”

‘The Real Deal’ seeks to avenge his defeat against Lewis Crocker after their bout in March concluded with Donovan disqualified for dropping his opponent after the round ended.
The fighter from Limerick felt he was in command for a significant part of their initial match and mentions that the surprising conclusion has fueled his drive for the rematch.

“My fight with Crocker is the one I seek reparation for,” he added.
“Following what transpired last time.
“I am now familiar with Crocker. I’m aware of his tactics and fighting style.
“It’s going to be a battle and I am determined to win it.”
