Aurelien Tchouameni’s injury at Real Madrid sees the spotlight taken over by Eduardo Camavinga, the only like-for-like replacement in the squad.
The Frenchman, who has missed a significant part of the season through injury, has only recently got up to speed and is now expected to play a major role for Los Blancos after the ongoing international break where he has been called up by Didier Deschamps.
As relayed by L’Equipe in a recent update, however, Camavinga did not train with the team in yesterday evening’s session in what appears to be a worrying update for Los Blancos.
Nursing a knock
The French outlet report that Camavinga, along with Barcelona’s Jules Kounde, signed autographs for fans while making their way to training before taking a detour and splitting away from the rest of the 22 players called up.
The duo then went on to participate in some running exercises with the team’s physical trainer Cyril Moine.
While the update seems worrying, it has been furthered that their participation against Ukraine in the first friendly of the hiatus is not in doubt.

It thus appears that Camavinga was just carrying a knock carried forward from Real Madrid’s game against Rayo Vallecano and that there is no fresh injury.
The decision to train separately appears to be purely out of caution.
From Real Madrid’s point of view, the clubs would undoubtedly prefer if the player were sparsely used over the coming games so as to prioritise his fitness and minimise the risk of any aggravation.
After all, he will be key for them once the break ends.
So far this season, Camavinga has played eight league games for Real Madrid of which only three have come as a starter.
He averages under 45 minutes per game and has yet to register a goal or an assist in the competition.
