As if this disastrous season for the Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t get any worse, it found a new way on Sunday.

Mahomes went down in significant pain and needed to be helped to the locker room. Though he left the field with a towel over his head, he did not need the injury cart. Given where they were in the game, Mahomes never saw the field again. He was replaced by Gardner Minshew who ultimately threw a game-sealing interception.
With the Chiefs eliminated from playoff contention after the loss, we’ve likely seen the last of Mahomes for this season.
Mahomes is slated to undergo an MRI to determine the full extent of his injury. The hope is that it doesn’t carry over into next season.
