Mohamed Salah has been listed on the bench for Liverpool’s Premier League matchup against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The striker has been recalled to the matchday roster after not being included in the travel squad for Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan midweek, following his controversial interview at Elland Road the previous weekend.
The 33-year-old, who was benched for the third straight match against Leeds United, expressed that he felt he had been «thrown under the bus» by the club and indicated that his rapport with Liverpool manager Arne Slot was deteriorating.
Nevertheless, sources informed ESPN on Friday that Salah would be included in the squad this weekend following discussions with Slot on Friday. This decision was viewed as being in the best interest of everyone involved.
Salah is set to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations post-match, with discussions regarding the forward’s future planned for the upcoming weeks.
Salah hinted last weekend that the clash with Brighton could mark his final appearance for Liverpool, as he is scheduled to represent Egypt on December 15.

He has long been a target of interest from Saudi Arabia and might leave the club in January if a resolution cannot be achieved with Slot and Liverpool’s management.
Addressing the media during his press briefing earlier on Friday, Slot stated he had «no reasons to want him to go.»
