SheBelieves Cup: U.S. to play Canada, Colombia

The U.S. Soccer Federation revealed specifics about the 2026 SheBelieves Cup, featuring Argentina, Canada, and Colombia alongside the United States women’s national team in the event.

All three adversaries of the U.S. are ranked 30th or better, with Argentina positioned at No. 30, Canada at No. 10, and Colombia at No. 20. The U.S. women’s team is ranked second behind Spain.

Colombia reached the finals of the 2025 Copa América Feminina, defeating Argentina in the semifinals through a penalty shootout after an intense 4-4 tie.

«These three nations are likely contenders for the World Cup in 2027, and we anticipate playing Canada in World Cup qualifying later this year. Thus, as we focus on our ongoing preparations and team development, the SheBelieves Cup holds significant importance,» stated U.S. manager Emma Hayes.

«Every team offers unique strengths and will push us to achieve success in all areas of the pitch, precisely what we need as we advance toward major forthcoming events.»

The SheBelieves Cup will host doubleheaders at three distinct locations. Canada and Colombia will kick off the tournament at Nashville’s GEODIS Park on March 1, followed by a match between the USWNT and Argentina that evening.

Three days later, Argentina will face Colombia, followed by the U.S. competing against long-time rivals Canada at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio.

The concluding day of the tournament will occur on March 7 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, featuring a match between Canada and Argentina, followed by the USWNT taking on Colombia.

Throughout the prior ten tournaments, the U.S. has emerged victorious seven times, although Japan claimed the trophy in 2025.

Regarding the 2026 opponents, the U.S. has triumphed in all six previous encounters with Argentina, the latest being a 3-0 U.S. victory in Louisville, Ky., in October 2024. Against Canada, the USA boasts a 54W-4L-9D all-time record, including a 3-0 win for the U.S. on July 2 in Washington, D.C.

The clash with Colombia will mark the 15th meeting between the two sides, the most recent being a 2-0 U.S. win in the opening match of the 2025 SheBelieves Cup. The USWNT holds a record of 12W-0L-2D against Las Cafeteras.

The USWNT’s matchup with Colombia will honor U.S. icon Tobin Heath, who retired last July, with a pre-match tribute.

The New Jersey-born player represented the USWNT 181 times from 2008-2021, netting 36 goals while assisting the U.S. in winning two World Cups and two Olympic gold medals. She is set to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on May 1, 2026.

Colombia is set to make its second appearance in the SheBelieves Cup after securing third place in 2025. Canada will be appearing for the fourth time, having previously participated in 2024 (second place), 2023 (fourth), and 2021 (third). This marks Argentina’s second entry into the tournament, its initial participation being in 2021 when it finished fourth.

The SheBelieves Cup will mark the second assembly of the USWNT in 2026 following a training camp in Los Angeles that will take place from Jan. 17-27, featuring matches against Paraguay on Jan. 24 at Dignity Health Sports Park and against Chile on Jan. 27 at Harder Stadium at UC Santa Barbara.
