Source: Commanders release starting C Biadasz

The Washington Commanders released starting center Tyler Biadasz, a source confirmed Thursday, freeing up more salary cap space but creating another need.

Washington saves $2.885 million in salary cap space — the Commanders have the fifth-most cap space available but now have only 52 players signed for 2026. Biadasz would have counted $10.98 million vs. the cap had he remained on the roster.

Biadasz had signed a three-year deal with $20.7 million guaranteed two years ago as part of general manager Adam Peters’ first free agent class in Washington.

Biadasz started 31 games the past two seasons for Washington but this move leaves Washington without a clear starter at the position. The Commanders do have Nick Allegretti still on the roster as a backup guard/center. They could pursue one in free agency.

Dallas drafted Biadasz in the fourth round of the 2020 draft; he rewarded them with a Pro Bowl berth after the 2022 season.

The NFL Network first reported his release.
