Sources: Nuggets' Johnson out at least 4-6 weeks

Denver Nuggets forward Cameron Johnson is set to be reassessed in four to six weeks following a bone bruise and hyperextension of his right knee, sources informed ESPN’s Shams Charania.

An MRI indicated there was no structural harm or significant injury after Johnson went down in the fourth quarter during Tuesday’s defeat against the Dallas Mavericks. He managed to hobble to the bench but did not reenter the game. The Nuggets initially categorized him with a right knee sprain.

Johnson, acquired from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. prior to this season, is averaging 11.7 points and 30.6 minutes per game.

The Nuggets are currently missing three starters: Johnson, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun.

Gordon is dealing with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain sustained on Nov. 21 versus the Houston Rockets. He is posting career-high figures in points (18.8) and 3-point percentage (44.4%) this season.

Braun is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks following an ankle sprain on Nov. 12. He has emerged as a crucial player in the Nuggets’ lineup, frequently guarding the opponent’s top offensive threat. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in Denver’s first 11 games.
