Texas A&M's 2026 WR corps is all but complete after latest addition

Texas A&M’s 2026 wide receiver rotation is all but complete after landing a massive commitment from Alabama transfer wideout Isaiah Horton, who, after entering the portal on Thursday, took one visit to College Station this weekend, and announced his intention to play for the Aggies on Sunday night.

Last season, Texas A&M’s one and only weakness in its wide receiver rotation was the lack of size on the boundary, which also hurt the red zone offense, lacking a 50/50 deep shot threat that could stretch the field and help starting quarterback Marcel Reed spread the ball around at every level of the field.

With the return of star wide receiver Mario Craver, along with ascending wideouts Ashton Bethel-Roman and Terry Bussey, combined with several incoming freshmen, speed and separation aren’t an issue, and Horton provides stability as a man-beater on the outside to create chunk gains and open up the offense.

Last season, Marcel Reed threw for 3,192 yards and 25 touchdowns, with seven of those scores coming off deep shots of 20 yards or more, while his 39% completion percentage on those throws should improve with Horton’s size posing an advantage. While five of his eleven interceptions came between the numbers, four were thrown along the left boundary, mainly due to the lack of size at wide receiver against average-sized defensive backs.

Mario Craver is one of the fastest players in college football, but is a mere 5’9″, and should have his best season yet in the Z or slot receiver role with Hortmon on the field, as the coverage will now have to focus on the Alabama transfer, especially if he finds early success in SEC play.

Barring any changes, including Auburn transfer WR Malcolm Simmon’s impending decision and Colorado transfer receiver Dre’Lon Miller’s visit to College Station this weekend, Isaiah Hortmon looks like the final piece of the puzzle for Texas A&M’s 2026 wide receiver corps.
