Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Tim Patrick is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason.
So what might his next contract look like, and will the Jaguars re-sign him?
Tim Patrick contract projection
According to Spotrac, Patrick is projected to sign a one-year deal as a free agent worth $2.99 million. This would rank 56th among all wide receivers on a per year basis. Patrick is entering his age 32 NFL season.

In terms of player age, contract status, and statistical production, Cedrick Wilson, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Mack Hollins were used by Spotrac as comparisons to determine what Patrick’s deal could be.
Will the Jaguars re-sign Tim Patrick?
The Jaguars acquired Patrick in a trade with the Detroit Lions prior to the 2025 season starting. As the year progressed, Patrick worked himself into a larger role, which included passing Dyami Brown on the depth chart and being WR3 for a few games when the Jaguars were without Brian Thomas Jr.
Patrick finished the season catching 15-of-25 passes for 187 yards with three touchdowns. Beyond his production, Patrick is a good fit for Liam Coen’s offense, willing to do the dirty work in the run game and attack the middle and intermediate parts of the field.

At the projected contract value, it would be quite easy for the Jaguars to bring Patrick back as there is very little commitment on their part from a money and years perspective.
However, oftentimes when discussing those back-end of the depth chart roles, teams prefer to have younger, more developmental, and high upside players taking up those roster spots. So if GM James Gladstone chooses to go that route, Patrick could be playing elsewhere.
With that said, I do think Jacksonville valued what Patrick brought to the receiver room, and re-signing him shouldn’t stop Gladstone from further adding to this unit in the draft if that’s the direction he wants to go.
Also, if push comes to shove during roster cutdowns, my guess is that the Jaguars could get out of Patrick’s deal with little dead cap left on the books. So re-signing him in March gives the Jaguars some additional insurance at this position heading into the draft and training camp.
