Amanda Nunes was already a legendary figure when she entered the cage to face Cris Cyborg seven years ago.
Upon exiting the cage, she earned the title of the greatest of all time.
During UFC 232 on Dec. 29, 2018, Nunes achieved a knockout of Cyborg in a mere 51 seconds at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., securing the women’s featherweight championship. She entered the bout as the reigning women’s bantamweight champion – with previous victories over Ronda Rousey and Valentina Shevchenko – thereby becoming the inaugural two-division women’s champion in UFC history.

Leading up to the match, many viewed Cyborg as the ultimate women’s fighter. However, by securing dual championship status and adding Cyborg to her list of victories, Nunes claimed her position as the top competitor in the sport.
Watch Nunes’ impressive performance ahead of her comeback next month at UFC 324 (Paramount+), which will be held on Jan. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Women’s 135-pound champion Kayla Harrison (19-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo and two-time PFL champion, will be facing UFC Hall of Famer Nunes (23-5 MMA, 16-2 UFC) as she comes out of retirement after nearly three years.
