The Washington Commanders seemingly don’t have much left to play for as a team in 2025.
The team is 4-10 and has long been eliminated from playoff contention. It was also recently announced that star quarterback Jayden Daniels will sit out for the team’s final three games.

However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some cool individual accomplishments at stake. For example, edge-rusher Von Miller is sitting at seven sacks entering Week 16. That means the future Hall of Famer needs three sacks over the final three weeks to reach the coveted double-digit sack mark.
Scott Abraham of ABC 7 in Washington, D.C., asked Miller about the possibility of reaching this mark.
«I’m just taking whatever comes,» Miller said. «If it’s for me, it’s for me; if it’s not, it’s not.»
Miller leads the Commanders in sacks this season. The veteran has seven sacks, 21 tackles, and five tackles for loss in 2025. Without Miller, the Commanders’ pass rush would be a complete mess. Veteran Jacob Martin is the only other healthy Commanders player with at least four sacks. Dorance Armstrong was Washington’s top pass rusher, but he was lost for the season in Week 7 with an ACL tear.

Miller was then asked what it means to be still playing this well at his age.
«It’s definitely a dope accomplishment,» the future Hall of Famer explained. «There’s some doubt in there, so to be able to prove it to myself, it definitely feels good.»
If Miller does get to the 10-sack mark, it will be the seventh time he’s reached the double-digit mark in his career. Miller could also get the most sacks he’s had in a season since 2018, when he had 14.5 for the Denver Broncos.
Miller will be a free agent after the 2025 season. It will be interesting to see if the Commanders want to bring him back. He’s clearly proven he can still play and be a helpful piece on defense.
