Sheeraz on why a proposed fight against Diego Pacheco never came together
“I got a phone call from [Turki Alalshikh] and the team, they’d like me to fight Pacheco in February, said ‘no problem, let’s do it.’ And then a couple days later he was announced to fight Sadjo. So, it was an interesting one. Not saying he was avoiding the fight or anything because he’s a fighter at the end of the day, but that would’ve been a great fight.”
On his interest in fighting Jaime Munguia
“I’d love that fight. Strong fighters who’s been in there with like Canelo — it’s similar to Edgar Berlanga in terms of the profile of him.”
On whether a fight against Canelo is a realistic possiblity for his next fight
“Nah. Probably if I do fight him I’d have to win my next fight and then talk of that fight would come again summer of next year, so we’ll see what happens…Ultimately if I do fight him it will happen in the next year and I have to keep on winning.”
On his interest in fighting Terence Crawford
“Who wouldn’t? It would be an honor to share the ring with him but we’ll see what happens.”
